For: Mid-size companies, foreign subsidiaries, and family groups preparing audited accounts

For companies that must present audited financial statements to banks, parent entities, or shareholders, Yamane Audit Atelier conducts statutory financial statement audits with the patience of a craft workshop and the rigor of Japanese auditing standards.

Who it is for

Finance directors and owners who need an independent opinion on the fairness of the balance sheet, income statement, and notes — not a rubber-stamp review. We work especially well with manufacturing and trading companies in Fukushima and neighboring prefectures, and with overseas parents that require English-language communication alongside Japanese working papers.

What you receive

  • Engagement letter defining scope, materiality approach, and deliverables
  • Risk assessment and audit plan tailored to your ledgers, inventory cycles, and revenue recognition
  • Interim and year-end fieldwork with sampling of transactions, bank confirmations, and inventory observation where relevant
  • Management letter summarizing control observations (separate from the opinion)
  • Independent auditor’s report for attachment to the financial statements

What is excluded

Bookkeeping, tax return preparation, and management accounting redesign sit outside this engagement. If your trial balance is incomplete, we pause fieldwork until the accounting team closes the books.

Process and timeline

  1. Scoping call — share prior-year statements, chart of accounts, and reporting deadlines.
  2. Engagement acceptance — independence checks, fee estimate, and signed engagement letter.
  3. Interim fieldwork — walkthroughs of sales, purchases, payroll, and inventory; preliminary sampling.
  4. Final fieldwork — year-end cut-off testing, subsequent events, and note disclosures.
  5. Opinion and wrap-up — draft report, clearance of open items, and issuance of the signed opinion.

Most engagements run eight to fourteen weeks from planning to opinion, depending on inventory complexity and how promptly schedules arrive.

Location and delivery

Fieldwork may take place at your offices or at our atelier in 青柳町, with secure document exchange for schedules and confirmations. Inventory counts are attended on site when stock is material.

Preparation

Before we arrive, please ready the trial balance, general ledger detail, bank reconciliations, fixed-asset register, and draft notes. A named contact for each cycle (sales, inventory, payroll) keeps questions moving.

Pricing basis

Fees reflect entity size, number of locations, inventory nature, and whether Japanese GAAP or IFRS applies. Starting fees for a single-entity statutory audit begin at ¥1,800,000. Multi-entity consolidations are quoted separately after scoping.
